I survived

MahlerFest is over. For some reason, this year’s festival took a lot more out of me than usual. But I nailed my part (diligent practice and a stiff dose of fear works wonders).  The concert got good reviews. Next year is Mahler’s 8th Symphony, I can’t wait.

Now I have to slog through my to-do list of 30+ items. I shall return…

  1. Congratulations, and here, have a margarita.

  2. Odd that I would punch up your blog immediately after punching in a “Best of the Best, Beethoven rocks the house” CD. That is not it’s name, but occaisionally and every so often I need to hear the music I grew up listening to blasting out of this very room as my father hunkered over this very desk and did father stuff. I would not admit it then while he was alive, but I will admit it now. He got me hooked on Classical music. Delibes “Maria” overture will make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time.

I had a very good friend at the military school I attended who played piccolo in the band. Besides the guy with the triangle, he looked the silliest when he tucked that sucker up under his arm between tunes. No one teased him though. He was over 6 feet tall and looked like a cop havinfg a bad day when we dressed up for parades.

  3. Congrats on doing well and not peeing down your leg….again. 😉

  4. Congratulations!

  5. Congratulations! I wish I had your talent. Maybe I already read this…but where did you play? Was it in Boulder?

  6. I think you should know; while you were busy doing mom stuff and not posting today someone changed your template. It’s totally different and it looks really cool so you might want to keep it.

    Snarkily yours,
